Tbh as much as i love this story, I'm bothered because of something that I read recently, about a guy who is around 5 years older that a 17 year old girl.. the guy has known her for years, since she was a kid but the guy is recently thinking that the girl is hot and would like to have a relationship with her. Someone commented that the girl should have been labeled as a 'child' in his head since he has seen her growing up... Regardless of how she looks like today. Apparently it's still like pedophilia. This story is the same.. but roles reversed (though I'm not sure about their age gap, ibee is older than him). I know this is all fiction, but it kind of makes me feel guilty liking this stuff. Would reading material like this eventually affect my perception in reality? I just noticed that I'm recently kinda into stories where the girl is older. Idk, maybe I'm just paranoid lol. Thoughts?

Yes I agree 100%. I’ve had these thoughts since the moment he started showing romantic interest. Age gap relationships are fine but if the older partner met the other when they were a minor, the image of a child will be stuck in their mind and it’s the same as pedophilic relationships. I’ve honestly dropped this story so many times BECAUSE of this relationship. The only reason I kept coming back was because people kept insisting it was such a good story, but from what I’ve seen so far the author doesn’t even understand how immoral it is let alone how noble dynamics work. I’ve always felt uncomfortable with age gap relationships because of how predatory the characters seem to be when you look at them from a certain perspective. Idk why this has to be said but if you’re over age, DONT DATE A MINOR. (Our ideas might conflict and I’m fine with agreeing to disagree however I 100% understand where you’re coming from)

@Skykittens I usually would agree but I think this is why authors in these types of stories always separate the characters for a bit so they don't physically see them grow up to break the "parenting" role kinda?

I mean, you totally have a point about the older guy thing, but childhood friends aren't usually seen as anything close to pedophilia, esp. if the ages are close. Like when two kids have grow up together and fall in love and get married, being able to recall shared childhood memories is seen as something sweet, and not pedophilic even there was romantic interest during those times.
So there's a lot of gray area there... Like 5 years older is a bit much, but what about 3 years apart? Lol, there's just a lot to think about, and your comment definitely got me thinking... (note: Ibee is 4 years older, I think. But since she was a transmigrator, all we know about her age was she landed in a 17 y/o body, but we don't know her original age...)
