Skip and Loafer - Vol. 3 Ch. 16 - Drowsy Homecoming

I just binged this and I want to say thanks so much for the amazing and detailed translations! It really allowed me to enjoy the manga so much :D

This story is like a hot cup of tea. So freaking sweet. Thank you for the update!

Ah the author perfected the feeling of "Home". It reminds me of when I return home to visit my family. 😄

This chapter is so peaceful.
There is something about the two pages where the author just show mitsumi looking at her mom cooking in the kitchen and the scenery in her hometown.
She conveyed the feeling of "Home" very well.

As per usual, thank you so much for the translation! Really appreciate the work.

so serene. her hometown reminded me a lot of my own and how much I miss it. thank you for the translation, this is definitely one of my favorite ongoing series 😌

@ThePaulBunyanTrophy Actually, Christians in Japan were persecuted to death by law up to 1867; they lifted the ban in 1873 only after pressure from the U.S.
They didn't move a lot of religious wars, but that's because most of their neighbours shared the same belief and they never needed an excuse for killing and torturing: they already did that for fun and profit.
Rather than a monotheistic religions trait, I'd say it's more a human trait: you see someone slightly different than you, you kill them with fire.

@Beregorn their motivation for killing christians wasnt the same as, say, the attitude christians and muslims had towards each other, though. It was political rather than doctrinal, since christianity was seen as a foreign influence and threat to the shoguns power. A good historical comparison might be the roman empire, which was tolerant of most religions but persecuted christianity because it undermined the state. Both were extremely authoritarian but part of their strategy to maintain power was a syncretic attitude towards religion

EDIT: 2 seconds after i submitted this comment i realized how insanely out of place it is in the comments for this comic in particular
