@starburst98 Because as far as i know, All of Neji's works are Yuri and include so little mens/boys. As far as i remember the only males characters i remember from Neji are Lily's dad in Beauty and the Beast and the cat from Vacation Maou no Pet. So it's a safe bet to assume that Tentacles-san is a girl.

That wasn't my question. My question is how does slave-chan know it is a girl tentacle. We know due to meta reasons, but what are the in story justifications for slave-chan's knowledge of tentacle sexual dimorphism?

@starburst98 Oh that part. Can ask @GoggledAnon for that but maybe it was gender neutral in Japanese and the translator choose to go for She since it's obvious Tentacle-san was a girl. Can't read Japanese so i will wait the answer for that.

Well she lives in that fantasy world, so why shouldn't she be able to tell the gender of other monsters or species. Maybe males have 1 or 3 rings, no bumps or more, colour etc. etc.
