Recently learned that this vanishing without a trace things actually happens in Japan.
People running away from situations they can't handle, women trying to hide from abusive husbands. etc.
There's even companies offering help with overnight moving and apparently there is no Police mandate to search for these people if they disappeared voluntarily. (not sure who decides if it was voluntarily)
