That's right. They're still in their first year of high school. Volume 4 started with the summer break between semesters. Only every once in a while you'll get an indication of what time of the year it is.

@mycropen I was thinking it was strange for them to still be in first year after 70 chapters but i remember Seitokai Yakuindomo where Tsuda is still 2nd year after more like 400 chapters.
