In the afterword, on page 24, tmfly states that the concept started as a bog-standard yuri premise, and changed into what we now have. Thank goodness for that! This oneshot and the ongoing serialisation are very memorable for that reason. You'll find a lot of angst in the comments for the latter, but, hey, some variety is good for the genre.

This is really different from the other version. I mean, the characters are the same, but the nature of their relationship isn't.

If I had ever read this one first at least my expectations wouldn't have been so far off mark while reading the other one.

Ok, so now I'm confused.
@impendio Makes it look like what I feared. I don't care/mind about the college setting and sex. "It's not meant to be pure", you can have a pure, fluffy relationship even if you go into adult territory. I just don't want drama, or people playing with each others' feelings. Like this. So I feel like skipping the serialization.

But @Kaldrak says "the nature of the relationship is different"? So they're actually a couple that respects each other, or...?

I'm lost.

I don’t want to spoil anyone out and it might just be own expectations but

given my understanding of the raws in the serialization, it seems like we are really down the same path as this pre-serial. And really, after a while we truly realize that they are both a mess and mildly terrible people for different reasons but I mean, real people are more often terrible than not, even our loved ones.

So yeah, I might be wrong but we would have to see how it ends.

I really really don’t see them ever ending up together and/or on a healthy relationship and that is sad.

@impendio It might be possible for them to fix things as long as they get their act to together. Not sure if its going to happen at this rate though.
