With the recent events, Death Mask seems to be a lot more.... angry. I don't think he hates humans that much, I think he is just extremely angry against Maris parents for abandoning him.

there was a plot development during the early chapters but they slowed down the story development, which is positive in this case.

I'm guessing the next volume will be out in around 5 - 6 months or so, but in the meantime I've been working on retranslating/typesetting volume 1, so stay tuned for that :)

Sodatechimau [育てちまう] is a conjugation meaning to “accidentally (not intentionally) raise (someone)”
And the Maou [魔王] part means “Demon King”.
