Watermarks are allowed if its not obtrusive and there's no other option. Not everyone want to purchase the raw because scanlation is non profit by nature. Also, if you're referring to deleted ch76, it already confirmed by MD staff that it's posted by an alt account of someone who miraculously enough can actually write proper English. It got deleted because it deemed as troll attempt or trying to start a drama. "If the troll can get a clean raw then why this guy can't?!" Well, he probably paid for those clean raw or, if we go by conspiracy theory, done by someone related to a certain scans group to rustle some jimmies.

Photoshop means that doing it twice is only 1.05x the effort, since all you have to do is replace the background images with the new raws and don't have to redo any of the text or anything else.

These are watermarks on the raws left there by the raw providers on free raws. The rules are to stop translators putting their own big watermarks on a manga advertising their own site.
