Gonna have to check out Ensiferum's latest album. Hopefully it's better than the stuff they've been releasing for the last decade. I loved their self titled album, Iron and the Dragonheads EP, and liked the Victory Songs album but after that they've been really average imo. Heard a lot of good things about Thalassic so here's hoping :)

As for my SotD, gonna have to go with Ambeon, one of Arjen Anthony Lucassen's projects:

Edit: Oh and Turmion Kätilöt really rocks :)
Personal favorites: U.S.C.H. or Jalopiina though their earlier stuff is quite competent as well.

oh nice, another person with the same taste as me! Yeah Thalassic pretty good! i should try to find more of their songs, havent listen to all their songs yet. My favorite Turmion Kätilöt album is global warning.
 
This one singer isn't really well known, but apparently this one work of his is very good, you guys should give it a hear
