lol I went to go read chapter 7 cause of the note on the credit page and i was so dumbfounded at first cause our MCs kept talking about ejaculation but then as i read on realized they were talking about the game.

Where do I start with this male MC? He's not a skinny runt with stupid hair and/or glasses that's just there to be a self insert, he's actually a character in his own right. He's awkward but in a believably non crippling way. He hasn't had to break his character once to "progress" with the female MC, in fact it's part of his established character that delivered the critical hit this chapter. And on that note she isn't into him miraculously for no discernible reason! She started to like him as an acquaintance first for reasons that make sense and where actually a bit self serving and it's only through actual god damn interaction with him we've got to the blush without a sudden "doki doki" I love him bullshit moment within 5 minutes of meeting him.

Not to speak too soon but this is doing a lot of things better than other series with similar premises.

@MacMeaties Most of what you said is pretty spot on, we don't usually see a lot of character development in mangas quite like this. Usually the person just falls for the other without any reason, it's common in high school I guess but it doesn't really translate well outside of that. This author is delivering a reaction from a previous conversation that was focusing on building on his character over trying to get a reaction, it's pretty great. They're also pretty great at the "oh shi-" moment haha.

its still pretty early but kitagawa may win best reaction of the day. lol and this is going great so far. i dont remember anything stupid or annoying up to now. the real test will be after this though. this is usually where they introduce another (annoying) love interest or, on the other end, choose not to take the story anywhere..
