I don't understand what some people are talking about. I don't see this ending up in a love triangle. Even in this chapter, Rin doesn't fight for Ayumu alone, but for both him and Takeru, and not because she loves them both, but because she admires them and thinks they are wasting their talent by not being in the Kendo club. It's as simple as that. At no point did this chapter even hint that Rin was in love with Ayumu.

I get that everybody's genre-savvy and already calling it that, even with no signs of romance from Rin yet, there's gonna be a love triangle. But even then Rin would more likely cause progress instead of delay it.

Maybe it's because I know she can be much worse.

In the author's previous work Fudatsuki no Kyoko-chan, theres a side character who gets a lot of screentime but is a ABSOLUTE GARBAGE CHARACTER.

Compared to her, this kendo girl is pretty cute.
