I can understand why the past grudges are being forgotten, the humans don't want war anymore and since the demons can talk, they think that it all can finnaly end, war is not something that everyone wants to participate all their life.
@Boomthorkell I mean, from an amoral ecological and ecosystem point of view, yeah, demons should exist, otherwise humans would just proliferate like deers and rabbits when they have no predators but yeah, it's not a reason for humans to just roll over and let themself be eaten.
When a pack of wolf catch a deer, it's good for the ecosystem but the deer isn't and doesn't have to be happy about it or not try to escape.
In a very fucked up way she was trying to atone her sins, I feel like this is more an issue of the fundamentalism of the value of life rather than Demons being evil for the sake of.
Its been almost 80 years since they killed the demon king.
take WW2 as an example its only been about 70 years, hypercritical if you take Germany for example as the demon race. Everyone adult to child like the manga has said is using language and reasoning to deceive. Majority of the world view german people as friendly, and most pardon them of hitlers wrong doing as its not their fault. Now apply that to them pretending to be innocent and the trust in the last 70 years is built upon a lie to deceive and gain the trust of others. Its not strange if these demons run around trying to talk peace and help the humans, while the human naively believe them.
What a novel idea, for demons to be inhuman monsters. For real, though. When everyone tries to do a subversion, the subversion stops being interesting in and of itself. This manga “goes back to the roots” of these fantasy tropes, but does so in a unique way. Love this author.
Ha ha, exactly! A lot of people though are those dangerous kind of well-meaning types, smart enough to deliberately override their survival instincts and embrace danger. I'm almost impressed they could exist in such a near-medieval population, but narrative-wise I think it makes sense that they are desperate for peace, and so, willing to embrace this..."humanitarian universalist" viewpoint.
There's an interesting aspect of it though. Why did the demon in the story tried to "make up" for killing the other guy's daughter in the first place? If she was 100% on deceit, there wouldve been no reason to do that.
Truly, though, sometimes a wolf suckles babies...ha ha ha, but really, weirder things do happen with wild animals. Maybe a serial killer still has a fondness for a pet or a person, or latches onto some idea.
@Scrwd: Part of her attempt to infiltrate, I assume. By doing a "good deed" in getting a replacement daughter for the family, people would trust her more.
