Sousou no Frieren - Vol. 2 Ch. 16 - Sentinel Slaughter

Really hoping this doesn't suddenly becomes a battle manga as some people here are wishing... I like it's cathardic feeling and slow pacing. I don't mind the action scenes, but they're not why i'm loving this manga.

Kinda like beastars, i really liked how it started, but from the part where legosi goes after tem's murderer and engages in battle it kinda becomes this wierd battle manga and the part about the characters' internal crisis and relationships between herbivores and carnivores and Legosi discovering himself kinda gets lost. And it's the part i really liked about it. Now i barely get excited to read new chapters in the middle of the final battle of this arc... I do like battle mangas and badass characters too, but there are plenity of those.

Is the previous hero party only going after the demon king?

It's a bit puzzling how this town with the heroes' statues don't notice it right away that Frieren is the elf in the hero party, considering that elves are apparently rare and long-lived, and if we make the fair assumption that all elves look different from each other. That short elf with that distinct twintails and staff can't be just some elf.

@ GryphusOne

To be fair with the town people, it's been 80 years since the defeat of the demon king, so I doubt there's anyone alive from the time the hero's party passed by this town hence recognizing Frieren won't be easy as statues aren't 100% accurate (Frieren mentioned it before), moreover even if they noticed their likeness they won't make the connection right away.

Going off to face the final boss under the guise of wanting to skip town. Now that's hype as shit.

@lenovoaxioo pretty sure several chapter back they show that aura ran away and gone missing, and it was also shown that some demons are too difficult to be defeated fully so they seal it. So the only one that is killed for good as of now is the demon king

@GryphusOne That's the point of the story that human is short live thus forgetful. Several chapter back it was shown that a boy during hero party's time is already a really oldman, the generation that appears in the chapter might only hear the story and not knowing how they actually looks like. Unlike photograph that we are used to paintings and statues are not very reliable source since they are prone to chipping damage and often beautified

I killed him for now though. When demons perish, they turn into particles of mana and disappear.
For now? Are demons "alive" in the conventional sense? She makes them sound like magical constructs.

I love how this manga came out of fucking nowhere and instantly became one of my favorites.
