Sousou no Frieren - Vol. 2 Ch. 17 - Frieren the Slayer

Damn I love the double entendre. 17 chapters in and the melancholic title we're used to takes on a whole new meaning.

Not gonna lie Fieren laying on the ground is cutest thing ever

Deadly cute

Man I just can't get a read on the demons, and I love it. They're predators who manipulate human emotion and language, yet they seem to be capable of feeling the same emotions; they're warriors who value hard work, yet they cease to work on a magic once they consider it "completed"; they're a solo species who lack the fundamental concept of "family", yet they're also capable of working in groups to achieve a goal. What would be considered "contradictions" for a human seems to be the norm for demons, and likely vice versa.

I'd actually be okay with Frieren & co. continuing to fight them without gaining that understanding, because - unlike series where both sides are human - when there are multiple sentient species there is that very real possibility: that sometimes it's impossible to see eye-to-eye.

They make a badass duo. But they probably should've double-teamed the girl while Lugner was incapacitated so they can finish them off.

So demons start from scratch once they are born but are already pretty strong to deal with while humans are able to pass on their knowledge and craft unto the next generation and further refine it. I say that's pretty good comparison of both races.

Fern and Stark are an excellent combination.

Also, Frieren is no prodigy. Just like you demons, she evolves her magic. And she has certainly dedicated her life to one magic. The all-powerful, all-versatile EveryMagic.

I think Frieren is also quite hard working for studying magic for over 1000 years.

But, has she found the spell for syrup to go with the shaved ice spell? That’s the important thing.
