Sousou no Frieren - Vol. 3 Ch. 24 - Elven Wish

Those small time skips always make me feel some strange melancholy, the time keeps going for the humans and Frieren just can watch.

Also I don't really believe it's possible to create a age equivalence for elves, it's most likely just going like in stages. The first stage being child elves, the next stage adulthood and the last stage just being extremely old, probably the monk was getting close to there, so that's why he can call Frieren "young".

it's a bit unrealistic that they didn't even pack winter gear - it's like visiting Moscow in swimsuits
i'm surprised they didn't already die trudging thru snow in dresses and shit 😰

its been 28 years for a ton of chapters I don't think they managed to do so much shit in less than a year

These little time skips. These set a perspective. To them, it's days, weeks months, to us and to Frieren, it's just a few panels. Just a blink of the eye.

@wolfclaw3812 That's a good observation; I didn't relate the frequent time skips and few panels to her thinking. Interesting.

Anyway, that monk is interesting. I wonder what's his story.

@no168_92 "It would have been too funny...had it not been also sad". Your comment reminded me of an old hentai RPG: the MC there was one of the last remaining [female] elves, and her "solution" was to travel around the world and have sex with any race capable of impregnating her.

Matter of perspective: rather shallow premise for a porn game, yet if you take reproduction out of the equation and look at the rest of what an elven life is like...

They always talk about elves as they going extinct because they are a race that lives by themselves, but i sure remember that Frieren was living in an elven village when she was little tho...

@Tearsax and that was more than a thousand years ago. Also don't forget about the elven genocide that demons were doing. I'd imagine specifically the elves that lived in settlements died first, as they are just sitting targets for demons. Hence why the only two elves we've seen so far are strong travelers that can defend themselves

This series fills me with existential dread unlike any I've seen before, but I can't stop reading, Lord help me
