Himmel is such a legend man.. He wasnt destined to be a hero, but he became one through sheer will. And the format of the whole story where he is dead just adds to the mystery and his legendariness, same as zetsuen no tempest's format where Fuwa Aika was dead from the start but the story would still somehow revolve around her.
