Sousou no Frieren - Vol. 4 Ch. 33 - Grandfather Voll

It's pretty damn sad knowing that when you die... nobody will really remember you... or anything :c ... Just because you are some very damn average human barely able to make ends meet... *sigh*

AHhhhh.... who took out the onions? 😭

This makes me think of the elderly who might have dementia or alzheimers....it’s a sad thing when your memories start to fail on you, and everyone close to you starts leaving....

If that dwarf was with a human, I guess he must have something big below his beard.
Hehehehe.....

@RedRoyce It may seem depressing until you realize it really doesn't matter. I mean do you remember all of the Kings, Queens, Emperors that made significant impact on our lives? How about the guy that discovered penicillin, the medicine that probably hundreds of millions of people and billions at the rate we are going? How about all the other scientists, philosophers, mathematicians that made significant discoveries that are crucial in our modern life? We don't remember most of them yet we rely on their discoveries and inventions. I used to also think it's important to live your name in the annuls of history but in the end that really doesn't matter. Life is short, just do what you want in life and try to live a happy and fulfilling one; who cares about what others think of you and what legacy you leave behind.

Oh my god, I had a really hard day, and this just push me over the edge, but in a weird akward good way. Like this was way too sad, but also so nice. I can't read this anymore, is too much.

I wonder if the Mangaka is ever gonna introduce a character called Dicht who's never sober. Would be funny.

Dicht (lit. dense) btw is a german colloquialism for being dead drunk.

You don't need historie to recall your name. Just by one dearly person is more then enough.

Damn no one in the village remembers who or why grandpa stays there, that's the heartbreaking moment for me

@Mhaiwind Nice analysis, this is one manga that really speak so much more than the characters ever do. Seriously, when it gets an adaptation I hope KyoAni does it.

What a cool gramps. Dem feels...

@ ZanaduKhan every time you see a Himmel statue, it's in a different pose, those are his Handsome Himmel poses.

In the end, no one is remembered. Not even famous historical figures like Lincoln or Shakespeare or Galileo are really remembered. You may know their names, works, and deeds, but you don't know the way they spoke, moved, laughed, or cried. You may read a description, but that's not the same as a memory of the real thing.

This is a fine manga.
