Yea people really cant appreciate, you know that if this series just skip like usual, this series will end soon (around ch 55-60). Then you will still protest because the world isnt fleshed out enough, there is much to explain.

@Cacona and to know more about the state of Northen country and citizen, who plagued by war for a long time and seeing death as daily occurence (they are rather chill though).

@Koshin_127 there is many to see, like how Fern is actually in op side of the mage, humanity isnt that hopeless in from of the demon, Frieren is still casual (there is no threat to her life afterall).

I find this interesting, even if none of these characters return.

The only other magic we've come to know are Frieren's extremely mundane purpose-specific stuff. While there was the demon arc that showed other ways to use magic offensively, that's really about all we knew.

That said, I won't deny this is dragging out a bit more than necessary, especially considering previous pacing as a whole. Since it should now be 2-3 hours away from finishing, I expect the next chapter to be a mini montage of activity while the story resumes.

Still is potential for more exam related "filler" however.

Don't worry guys. According to last collage, we will probably see some Stark, Himmel flashback and "wholesome" stuff soon. Maybe they will take a break after first exam. It is just my expectation tho. Although I also miss wholesome stuff, current arc is good to explore magis system and it contributes the world building.

@Rukja I see other people saying this which is funny. Pay attention to the manga dude. Fern is just 18 years old but he says it was 29 years ago. :)

The possibility of it being Fern is a bit of a stretch, going back to Chapter 2 where Fern is introduced, she is supposedly a War Orphan from the Southern Provinces, while this girl Wirbel is talking about moved to the Central Provinces with her family.

There is also the context of it being over 29 years ago when this happened in Wirbel's memories - or for context right now 29 years since the Hero Himmel's passing too and 9 years since Frieren has met Fern.

@sherlock0790 Its been like 80 years since then. Literally like 2 generations have gone by. This has both allowed remnant demons to regroup and made the heroes slip from memory due to the passage of time. The only ones who would remember in detail or recognize her are in their late elderly years and would have had to be young / children at the time it occured.
