Only possibility I see of them living is that plushy as one of her last remaining anchors being enough to bring them back from the void. As the distress only makes them possibly trapped in the void forever after ghostification without an anchor. If they didn't ghostify then RIP.

Aww... That's really depressing. I'm still hoping that Spectra survived, but she might not have. I think that what was anchoring her to the world was her friendship with Misaki and when she was betrayed like that she lost the anchor.

I'm pretty sure Spectra didn't die. Fire Mage implied that ghost mages can have multiple anchors (did she specify in the raws?), so most likely Spectra's anchors were:

- her friendship with Misaki
- various furniture
- plushie.

The first two were destroyed, which left her emotionally disturbed enough to slip, but Chaos is still holding onto the plushie. So Spectra is crying all alone in the void right now, but she'll be back eventually.

Chaos and Crystal also seem confident that Spectra will come back for the plushie, so that's something.

So the first impression was "why does this have to be so fucking depressing?". But, after a good nights sleep, rereading the chapter and reading poolpool's interpretation I am hopeful, and if necessary delusional enough to believe that Spectra is alive because of those reasons. The last panel of the girls trio wouldn't make much sense otherwise.

It's kinda similar with 4.5 . I would be happy if the author wrote a short epilogue of a somber, yet slightly hopeful tone. But the more I think of it, it could have been a lot worse.
