I really liked it, but the ending is a bit lacklustre as Spectra didn't change.
Would've liked to see how she could've changed herself for the better.

Nah, it's got three chapters (and two sub-chapters). It's just that the author updated it every once in a while with long-ass chapters which function as somewhat connected short stories (the summary is in every major chapter).

The sequel, on the other hand, follows a main story.
