Let the name thing slide. ホロ can be Horo or Holo. The earliest they could have gotten better clues on the matter was 2008 or 2009 via the anime (depending on whether or not they had to wait for the dub for clarity on the matter), up to a year or two after this scanlation is dated on MangaUpdates. Novels and manga weren't picked up officially until 2009 or 2010, too, I think.
