Guess yokai get comparable disease and illness. I'm sure a yokai cold, a Yokold if you will, is something that kills mortal children. But it's just a minor thing to them.

If you take a look closely, these yokai surprisingly has a functional body (duh). Which means their body is a system. They can get injured, they can get sleepy, they can get hungry. And suddenly it's weird that they can get sick as well.

Why are you guys acting so surprised? It's literally right there in the title that the kid was "spirited away" (that's kamikakushi in Japanese). This is hardly a "massive reveal" (lol) unless you're new to Japanese mythology, in which case, I guess that terminology would make no sense to you.

But if you this read from the beginning, and read closely and look at each chapter carefully, even before you reach this chapter, it's pretty clear that they're in the spirit world of kami and youkai, which exists alongside - not separate from - the real world. It's not a parallel universe but more like a shadow world, as MonsieurQuack guessed.
