To everyone still confused about the 24h thing, when he died to the sword emperor he did return to 24hrs before his death.
If you pay attention to the beginning of the chapter after that, he mentions that he had to kill the flame guy again since he died in less than 24hrs after ambushing him, just like he had to kill himself 30 times more than the initial number to account for the extra time he took between suicides. Also, when he returned with the ghost skill, it was night just like when he got killed by the gramps.

In short, he does return to 24hrs from the exact time of death.
