The Father strikes me like the type of guy, who would attempt ANYTHING to get rid of his daughter's boyfriend. I also assume she made him promise, that he won't kill him, so what's left to make him dead in her eyes? Seduction of course! I'm sure most people wouldn't want to talk with their SO after finding out, that they slept with their parent.
