I like how the Empire commanders don't have even the slightest hope that their Stormtroopers could fend off the enemy's boarding team. And that trooper guy at the end just proved them right.

I honestly felt that's one reason the Empire failed. They lost all their clone troopers who could fight and had to conscript a bunch of people who couldn't.
 
Last chapter, Ciena did say the Empire was drafting students who haven't even finished training yet.

It's not hard to imagine the Stormtroopers have only been taught how to pull the trigger, but not how to fight (or shoot).
 
@kanaloa - It is more Romance than anything at this point - this event really is just to tie loose ends.

The ending, though, is pretty much all scripted at this point the way Ciena envisioned it. Go down with the ship, and finally be free of the Empire. Of course, she didn't expect the Romance Tag to interfere...
