Here is why this type of rape is deemed acceptable to society most times, and you may not like how I am about to explain this but meh.
If you've ever watched Matilda or happened upon a case of a "privileged" person(child-adult) who basically has everything and doesnt look abused but is always screaming silently that they need help. Whether their screams are a fashion statement, bad grades, or just the way they act. Whichever way the very for help presents itself they are still asking for help. People will notice their odd behavior but often times this is when people judge them the harshest and pick on the good that they have when they discover it.
Teachers/Doctors/Any professional that is meant to point out these things may notice it but it's easy for the parents to say well they are "spoiled" and any act of the child saying or doing otherwise is overshadowed by their parents, their environment, and peoples judgments. Now let's put this in adult perspective where now we have political and religious views heavily added to the mix along with people trying not to step on other people toes. It doesnt matter if the person acts like they need help so long as they are surrounded by things/people that make them better off than those who are jealous of their position it will be accepted and even envied.
It won't matter how much she may or may not want it, people who envies her will say she can adjust. In her set religious and political environment can justify anything that is happening here. People like us who view her cannot say anything that she won't/cannot say herself without putting ourself in a peculiar position. Also if you didnt have the power to say anything or the means to do anything what could you do?
Also we must take into account that this is a work of fiction depicting such events. Also some people are walking through life wanting to be helpless dolls surrounded by woes and riches that somehow lands them to being a empress over everyone by doing absolutely nothing but being pretty.
Case and point out current climate is a diplomatic one that is improving the way of life for many who want the improvements. Though for some they wish they can travel back in time and somehow end up in the "best" possible position that is only for one woman.
I'm not trying to piss in anyone's cheerios, but I'm also done with people screaming rape. If the victim wants to do something about it or if she wants to adapt she is the only one in the position to do so. Also if you're angry at her for accepting whatever choice she accepts, it wasn't your decision to make. People are dealt the cards of life and they can do with them what they please and they dont make the rules they just chose to play or let someone play for them if they can.
It's so unfair I know.
