In chapter 2, Asuka was assaulting Yuu while the basketball guy was assaulting Kyoko. Both were giving the crazy eye. It was implied that Asuka had been with Yuu since they took him to the infirmary in the previous class, and it is unlikely she left the nurse's office, whammied the jock, and ran back while Yuu was unconscious without being noticed. So either chapter 2 had been set up/engineered way in advance, this puppeteer can use his powers through other people remotely, or we have a case of a writing contradiction.

@SomeGuy1 -- Well, we've seen that it isn't like the targets turn into mindless single-obsession zombies who think of nothing but the suggestion. They go about their days and stuff too. For example, the most recent girl has been under the suggestion that she wants to win his love for days now and she still otherwise goes about a normal day. Jock could have had his talk with Marionetter earlier that day or something, and still went to practice before making his move.

Also, we've seen that Marionetter doesn't need to be around to maintain the effect. Plant the suggestion and it takes care of the rest. She does tend to lurk nearby to observe, but that doesn't appear to be a requirement for the whammy to keep doing its thing.

Re-reading Ch 2, it is certainly interesting to see Asuka's actions back then through the lens of this new information. It is consistent with her trying to keep them apart. Kinda interesting to think that Marionette made her own attempt at seducing him. heh

Thanks for the tip on Ch 2 BTW. I couldn't remember where we saw her most in the story and was even having a hard time remembering who she was.
