It really puts a nice end to this chapter. Hopefully the mangaka won't throw in unnecessary jealousy plots in the future.
Some are believable, but often enough they just come off too childish without enough emotional depth.

If everything is pointing towards random pests bothering Tadokoro for several chapters to come, this author will probably resolve it immediately with a public declaration of ownership (plus public declaration that Nikaidou will end anyone who dares to bully Tadokoro for dating the school’s beauty).

This is just my opinion, but I think Tadakoro, while appreciating the acknowledgement of other students (and be grateful to Nikaidou for her encouragement), will find the increased attention too much & will go back to her old hair style on her own. It would be doubly interesting if she has to do so against Nikaidou's preferences. That would make a great character development opportunity for both our precious heroines (and offer more relationship building to boot).
