Tale of a Girl and a Delinquent Who's Bad with Women - Vol. 1 Ch. 9.5

So she's just not hit puberty yet because she's taller in that last panel.

@Arazy She could be a late bloomer. She has until she's like 20 before it really sinks in. On the other hand the odds are against her.

Why in theses stories women are always dreaming of being a gentle housewife ? There is a law in Japan which say that women can't work or it's just sexism ?

@Leemon
It's a difference in culture. In japan, they don't have the culture of shaming traditional families like we have on the West, so a man wanting to work to sustain his family and the woman wanting to become a housewife are not only encouraged, but well seen in the society.

On the West, on the other hand, if you're not both working and letting the government raise your child, so they can brainwash your kids into becoming tools for the socialist empire, you're sexist, racist, homophobic, islamophobic, and whatever other bullshit label they can think of to put on you.

"There is a law in Japan which say that women can't work or it's just sexism ?"
Women are more than free to work if they want, the problem is that the West has become so sexist, you perceive individual choice as proof of inherit sexism.

I... highly doubt she’d grow up to look that mature. But then again, it’s good to be optimistic.

@Yamiryuu Zero Yeah, it's really kind of funny how a lot of people here seem to assume that if a girl wants to be a housewife it must be a problem of sexism or lack of equality.
There's this underlying idea that being a housewife is somehow bad or at least an inferior choice compared to work, so if any woman wants to do that she should be shamed.
If that's not sexism I don't know what is.

@Leemon
No put workforce discrimination is as well as colleges only accepting a certain percentage of female students as long as it's public ally stated. i.e. A medical school can make it so that of all the accepted new students only a maximum of 20% can be female.

@YamiryuuZero big yikes from me. If you're constantly being labeled as homophobic sexist etc maybe you should reconsider your own actions instead of complaining on a manga site

@aiyikes HAHAHA nah, honestly getting called all kinds of shit has lost meaning, i was called a pedophile coz i liked the relationship of a 43 years old woman with a 29 years old dude, ppl have been tossing out words without understanding the meaning so much that u cant take any accusation seriously anymore

@Leemon

Traditional values, and there's nothing wrong with that. There's nothing wrong with being a gentle housewife as long as she's still capable of being independent if she has to be.

Now unfair sexism would be that a boy would be shamed of dreaming to be a house husband, which doesn't really get talked about as much afaik (i don't have an idea if this is still the case today). There are positive, and unremarkable depictions of house-husbands in Japanese media (or just Japanese anime e.g. Puella Magi Madoka Magica). Then again, being unremarkable is a step forward in progress imo (towards social normalization).

Are we all supposed to be out of the house to work? Wouldn't it actually be a better setup if the couple/both parents are at home all the time?

Life isn't all about work you know.

@aiyikes
No, no, I don't. The left labels EVERYONE as such, regardless of the existence or not of such behaviors. Being labeled as such only means you don't agree with their political view, and nothing else.
I am not any of the things they call me, and their complaints fall to deaf ears. Especially because the politics these kind of people push forward are exactly the segregationist, backwards politics they claim to abhor.
