I think the Main character is the serial swindler/liar, the swindler backstory literally lines up with her backstory about her father leaving her in debt. Also why did she not just get a regular high paying job with that university education she has ? Most likely because she has something horrible on her record that prevent her from being accepted. The very moment she said she was virgin at her age I immediately began to doubt her honesty.
