@Yautja ok, that's nice to know. Still, what would be easier, bringing the proof pronto or convincing the police to check the memory? Hopefully the chinese police, where upskirts seem to be common occurence, would be efficient, because in many other places it isnt that simple to denounce sexual harassment.

The phone is more likely to be functional than broken, the screen would just be cracked. Like I said, it'd be difficult for hear to seriously damage the phone beyond it's screen. And it's not like it's that difficult or unlikely to check a phones memory, especially when a crime has occurred. Turn on the power, plug it in. Worst case scenario is that the screen doesn't work and they cannot plug it in with a traditional micro-usb or whatever for some reason and they send it to a proper lab to be dissected and or pulled nearby security cam footage. It's not like any of this is particularly difficult or time consuming given the proper experience and equipment. You're really not giving this much thought.
