@Abetillo In the canon, I'm pretty sure he still can't taste anything at this point due to his loss of faith in humanity. He doesn't know what anything tastes like, but it isn't an issue since the food he makes is delicious anyways.
Besides, he properly treats the ingredients. The meat quality mostly resembles that of a frog? make the leg meat the focus. The origin of the meat is a swamp monster? wash it repeatedly and thoroughly to remove any muddy smell and taste. The origin of the meat was a poisonous monster? carefully remove the source of the poison without damaging it, and treat it with detoxifying ingredients just in case. The results aren't random, all aspects are taken into consideration.
@pokperson1000 I know about the cannon part, but neither that or what you are wrinting after have anything to do with what i am saying, at most supporting what i am saying, as i was talking about general taste of an ingredient. Let's say in another way: he does not know if the meat tastes like pork or if like turkey, so he cannot know what ingredients can be used ot complement its flavout, much less if there is other ingredients he does not know of.
Even furhter, as at this stage he does not know how anything tastes like and he cannot use his world's logic and knowledge the end result can be anything, no matter how good he is at cooking.
@Abetillo
The world seems to follow his old world's rules in terms of how ingredients work. So, frog.
Everything he makes still seems tasty to those who eat it anyways.
But whatever, let's just say you won the argument, because I really don't feel like arguing, and your points are still reasonable and have plenty of thought put into them.
