Couple of facts:
1) true that you do not start to lactate immediately, during the first 2 days the woman produces colostrum and not the actual milk, and these 2 days are fundamental to get that milk running.
2) if you breast feed, you keep on producing milk, no matter the age of the child. Of course once s/he start to eat other food, the milk becomes less and less until the production stops.
3) Fun Fact: if Hipster is looking for milk from tits, means that mommy still breastfeeds her. Good thing! The longer a child is breastfed, the better!

well, the good news is that tong fa is now going yo know what is coming for her, i mean she gets to have a preview of mother life. the bad news is that even after having the preview, she wont be nearly ready for it

@ponpoing There is a limit to how long breastfeeding is really that beneficial, though Hipster is clearly still in the intended age range for it.

@Loksel: of course there is a limit. 2 years is strongly advised, but if it goes for longer, there is no harm. It is a mommy/baby thingy, dads are out of the picture!

@ponpoing: Well, yeah. Male mammallary glands aren’t generally developed enough nor exposed to the same flood of hormones that stimulate the glands in a new mother afterall. Even the breastpumped bottle feeding is a different experience.

By age limit, I mean I doubt Hipster’s older sibling is drinking the breatmilk intended for Hipster.
