I meant the site function that takes a uploaded fullsize image on the user's pc, transforms it to a postage stamp size avatar for the forums, and a midsized image for the user profile.
I've seen my avatar displayed in 3 different sizes by the site with good detail, so I was curious what kind of resizing widgits the site uses. But I probably wouldn't understand the details anyway so it's no big deal.

it's a basic HTML image element
you set the width and height to what you want
the browser figures out the resizing on its own
it's all the exact same image

width and height specifications for the img tag were added in 1997
