@Kaarme Sorry for the late reply, but there ARE dogs that huge. Some dogs are bred to hunt bears, I believe.

The dog in this manga could be modeled after the Tibetan Mastiff, which are pretty large dogs. Get about 3 feet tall from ground to shoulder, and weigh around 130-160 pounds.

Irish Wolfhounds are the largest dogs I’ve ever seen in person. Those are like the same size as ponies. Absolutely massive.

I like how their relationship is realistic. They don't know anything about each other and there is still that awkwardness. No matter how rush or confirmed their engagement was, it shows their distance as strangers.
