I think he can hide the East village exit somewhere on the continent now, to have a quick passage to go there? If they use magic from Abyss to reach there just to place it I guess it should be really fast (instead of going with a boat).

And while it seems dangerous to add magic to the village, if theres mana on that world Abyss can go there without worries.
