Tensei Goblin dakedo Shitsumon aru? - Ch. 16

this goblin must have a "super optimistic" Skill. Even if i did forgive the oldman, there is no way i could trust him again. The goblins dont need the humans, just move the whole tribe somewhere there arent any humans.

This guy used to be human, but not a human from their world. But he’s so team humanity that it’s like he cares more for their happiness than his own survival which is weird.

Honestly if he’s so cool with their mentality I’m surprised he didn’t offer to just touch the blade and be done with it. I’m sure the old man would have laughed and just rescinded his attempt on the basis of character....... despite that also being the basis of their current friendship that’s been undermined at every point.

Ah, so we get to the argument of linguistic drift, and how memes affect it. Sus has another pre-existing slang use in British English, to 'suss out'. When you get down to it, most language is based off of ideas. The word 'electricity' has an etymological root in the greek word for amber (yes, the tree stuff). We might have lost the original explanation for why the ancient greeks believed amber could contain light, but it was there. I care not to delve into the reason why.

After all, the moment when people stop caring about the origin is when a meme becomes a part of common language.

Sus is decades old, easy to understand when used with context, however it is slang and shouldn't be used unless the character was using slang.

Currently, sus in itself is too short to be a meme imo. "Red seems/is sus" is a meme for people in gaming.

I think it’s great how this was approached. It is in line with MC’s personality to do this and it clearly shows the difference in a goblins mentality, vs a goblin with a human’s mind in it. He is smart enough to know he is an anomaly, so he treads lightly. MC is responsible for the present and future goblins of his village, so he acts with that in mind. If he lashes out, he risks the future of his race.

Something that bothers me though, is why did they hunt goblins to near extinction? Weren’t they being kept as harmless pets? Idr if this was explained and it’s weird MC didn’t try to find out more.

The MC is literally have a saint-tier personality and it bugs me, seeing as the "realistic" portrayal of personality is nowhere close to this.
It isn't bad, it's just reducing my enjoyment when I know that the MC can't even get mad at literal assassins.

i was about to make the "sus" comment when i saw a lot in the comment section... i have a feeling that the among us game influence the popularity of the word sus...

thanks for the chapter... gonna read the rest in that site..

You're telling me the humans went form attempting to exterminate golbins to owning goblins as pets to the current situation in less than 50 years? What the fuck. The humans that wanted to kill all goblins haven't even completely died yet!

MC keeps positioning himself as an "observer"
That's why Count Gramps kinda weirded out by MCs talk and action

Immortality and all the skills that all current goblins had? Then that means he's still alive, and just sealed somewhere doesn't it?
