No, the dragon is against it for the simple reason the last person who tamed dragon died due to mana depletion. Tamer died and the dragon got into a severe depression. Basically there is a mana upkeep and dragon naturally has a huge drain. Proud wolf and slimes have little upkeep

The dragon will accept. The dragon escapes. Then the MC says "so hey I've been looking for a flying companion. Could you be that companion?" The dragon accepts. Now the MC is even more OP with a huge dragon by his side.
