They're in kind of a lot of isekai. Sometimes it's because other Japanese people were isekai'd there in the past and started little villages or even full on countries, or a Japanese parallel just organically occurred in that world on its own somehow because the writer wanted to use samurai and ninja shit even in an otherwise Western style setting.
