Not sure how that spider can even move or is alive, she got a few arms blown off, her body and thorax got ripped to shreds. Like it looked as if almost all of her thorax was gone

I don't get why this secret is so important? Are they worried someone might try to defeat Fran by disarming her or something? No reason to advertise it but I don't see much benefit to going to lengths to keep it a secret when other members of the party have their own familiars.

Adding what @AbyssalMonkey said, remember earlier chapter where Master and that dwarf blacksmith talk about legendary swords that can even decimate entire army when using it? Yeah, well knowing that master is an intelligent sword (that is even rarer to the point that Amanda, an A-ranked adventurer with around 30-40 years of experience, considers it as a myth), will make people assume that master is one of those legendary sword, and attempt to take it from Fran.
