@ShinobuOshino - Amanda knew from the beginning. As the end of the chapter shows, Fran's parents showed her to Amanda and her Fran's name. And having raised her parents from kids, Amanda would have noticed Fran looking like her parents as kids. The "Mamanda" bit was just there to drive the onion knife in further into Amanda's heart.
