I dunno. I would think that it would have more to do with the materials used/the power that the weapon was imbued with that would make it rare/unique.

Fair enough about the blacksmiths, I suppose. I would think it's parts (the blade half) could still be used as an anti-magic weapon, but perhaps the weapon being cut in half broke the enchantment or something.

Let's hope that isn't true of the Zombie Gal.

Last boss gonna be the writer of that diary and the big-breasted girl was the author's friend and last but not all I bet all of these guys are gonna get resuscitated albeit debuffed or released or something. If dark souls taught me anything its that just because a weapon got cut in half doesn't mean it stopped working, sure it isn't as long anymore but its still a perfectly good weapon.
