I thought that it was already indirectly shown that this didn't take place after the storyline but seems to be randomly set. In the blacksmith chapter the holy knight met Kurobee for the first time, but Kurobee already made weapons and armor for him in the main series (I'm pretty sure it is explicitly stated that they met). They would have already met by the end of the series. I'm pretty sure for the LN as well.

I like this spin off because there are so many great characters in Slime sans world. looking at the latest cover, I thought after Rimiru becomes a demon lord I though he became a demon slime which was like gold and silver at least described in the web novel. In human form he has like silvered hair not the blue pre demon lord.
