Tensei Shitara Slime Datta Ken - Vol. 10 Ch. 45 - In Brumund Kingdom (Part 2)

isnt it funny to think that human have outsmart rimuru... when the time did come... he could just send milim to end it fast... lol

Yeah, the mutual defence treaty was a mistake. Hopefully it's just for defensive wars and not for invasions, otherwise it will be a really short lived one.
I'm worried what would happen if two countries who signed with Tempest were to wage war against each other.

Ahahah Rimuru got deceived. Now if Brumund provokes other nations, he has to help Brumund. Should put in a clause to prevent this!

He should head to the nations of the east and set up a similar treaty, so neither group can go on the offensive without the monsters joining the other side.

I knew it something was off. Rimuru should have discussed it with every1. There are many loopholes in the contract.

Well from what I experienced reading from books it's a 'mutual defense' treaty which means " we'll join forces with you only if someone else attacks you" . Not an 'Alliance' where " we'll join forces with you either in invading or defending. "

@Garrett
Honestly, this concern is usually not an issue. It was something that existed in our good ol' world after all. If a country sign mutual assistance to two others, and the two others decides to wage war, either the first country stays neutral, support both (and in that case risks being labelled as the bad guy taking profits off the war) or helps the one being attacked.
WW1 was the results of multiples defense treaty and alliance clashing against each other after all.

@monkey123
As it's defensive alliance normally you will help only if there is unjusted invasion from other countries. Plus It's not realy that easy to call for allied armies for each and every conflict. Well best example in history is WW II :) The first was Anshluss of Austria, then Czechslovaka, then Poland, Netherlands, Denmark, France. If all instead of protecting their own asses would act, WW II might have looked diffrently.

That king knows how to game the system, he may be a fat ugly f*ck, but he's one with a kingdom, and that means he's guaranteed a hot piece of a**.

Rimuru should never negotiate deals without his lovely princess and witty ninja. No way the ninja wouldn't have seen this coming. Though, the swordmaster would probably have been the best advisor to bring. Could he not have used shadow step to fetch them? Else, I can't imagine the teleportation circle being so hard for him to create that he can't warrant doing it for negotiations with other countries.
