@Mandate there's a lot of cultural history around that in Japan due to its isolationist period where the shogun had banned Christianity. That happens to be why there's a lot of weird fetishization and warped representation of Christianity (most likely either Oriental Catholicism or Orthodoxy) in Japanese pop culture, along with the old "church evil" trope as well.
