@stal2walk My understanding is that he's saying that even with a surprise attack, he would only barely make a dent in the barrier. It's definitely a very awkward phrasing though. I imagine it was left as is because the translator wasn't really sure how to phrase it either.

I remember when translation groups sometimes had v2 even v3 reuploads for better quality of raws, edit and translation, and readers were happy about it.
Why the hell is there so many people bitching about "bouhouhou, reupload bad".

This is a nicely translated chapter, well edited and with good typesetting... so thanks @Jesterly . Just don't listed to those ungrateful babies.
I often like to reread good mangas from the start, and this is one of them. So I can appreciate when all the chapters are available in the same place, and the quality is good.
Man, just try re-reading RE:Monster from the start... the first chapters are so bad that I would really like if someone decided to redo them... but nobody will do it, because of the bitching and moaning of dumb entitled people.
