Just wanted to say that this plot-point was way too rushed.
The story has just started. The guy has just learnt about using his abilities as a quote-unquote "super hero", and he already has to face a "super villain". He's just a puny little kid right now, at least let him mature a bit before throwing him into the gauntlet. How could he possibly handle someone like that, without relying on abundant luck?

And lo and behold, he had to rely on luck. His deus-ex-machina lady jumped in and saved him,and I bet she's gonna die sometime soon. That woman is the embodiment of "get out of jail" card. Too convenient, too powerful.
Kinda sad this is so amped up like that, because I actually liked how it started off. But this feels like it'd be even more short lived than Revival Man.
