For anyone in curious about that ending line, I just looked it up and it seems it's a Chinese metaphor that basically means a court/judicial system has failed to carry out justice, esp. in the case of an innocent person being convicted.

For everyone who don't know, or didn't notice: there is a very important scene at the end of the chapter: "Snow in June".
June is summer in China, so snow in June is a very annomal weather condition.
This is, in fact, a metaphor, folktole, legend in China. It's associated with heavy injustice, the innocent being falsly blamed and suffer a bad, unjust end. Because human doesn't know the truth, but the heaven does, the heaven cry for them. And it's shown in "Snow in June".
So in short, MC is innocent. The heaven/god knows it, sympathize with her, and gives her a second chance.

I think the implication is not that she cheated, but she was raped by the guard.. after her son was born. The guard was threatening her life, since regardless once the naked man is already in bed she would be killed with him.
