I guess it was a world-building, scene-setting chapter, but tbh as a casual reader I do find it hard to follow.

Rather than introducing facts to lay a foundation for the story to progress or build upon through methods such as establishing rules of the world and how actions and interactions occur, while this chapter did so, it also seemed to introduce many more questions than it answered...

i.e. I think for a world-building chapter it seemed kinda weak in itself (I do admit it may be setting the scene for the next chapter or the entire arc... I just wish it covered more...)
