It would be interesting if Ai is a plant in which people intentionally are designed to fall in love with as a means of keeping people trapped in the city.

And if she has the same face as three other people, the person this guy could be in love with could also have her face.

I think that would go far into explaining what's happening here

Pretty sure that the police guy is in love with the baker (I don't wanna spell the actual word). If memory serves, he revealed that the only person that he knew could control hounds is the baker.

Also, the baker is one of the Ai lookalikes as shown before.

Ai sounds like A.I to me.

I'm assuming that Ai is actually just an android, and the encapsulation was built around improving her "humanity." Her humanity will be proven after a certain number of people fall in love with her which is the ultimate act a human can do to another one.

That would explain duplicates, and the fact that the eye that came from the sky looked at her.

I thought she was bisexual tbh. I definitely got the impression she was attracted to both sexes based on some of the interactions she's had like the shower scenes.

For instance, she pretends to show interest in the main character. If she was strictly gay, as the people running the town would know from her confessing to Ai, then they would suspect her almost immediately for trying to seduce a dude. But if she was bi, it would begin to make more sense why it doesn't immediately arouse suspicion.

Also I said it would be interesting, not that it's my ship. (Ai and MC would be my main ship, but if she's a plant that's not gonna happen.)

Then again, in this story, being paranoid of literally anyone and everyone is pretty much the norm.

I really have no interest in Ai and everyone being so stuck on her... And lesbians don't appeal to me much.

So yeah, I want MC and FMC to be hitting it off. Why tease us with the fanservice otherwise? Yes we were "told right away", but there is plenty of stuff in the story to imply things are not what they seem.

She's going to be like the gay dude from Koi to Uso pinning after a straight person who has no romantic interest in her. There seems to be so many of romances like this specially involving lesbians.

Hasn't the MC been shown to be socially competent and supportive?
He helped his friend confess to the girl they liked.

He also sees the good in people so much that the bratty teenager abandoned his goals in order to stay his friend.

We haven't seen much of AI to show why anyone would like her tho, I agree.

Bro... She's gay. It's OK. The story never had much romantic appeal anyway. It's mostly about the mystery.
